The seven competitors at the 3rd Annual Red Bull Night Riders braved some unsightly conditions tonight at Flagler Pier, but gave us a great show none the less. With air temps in the low 60s and gusting northerly winds to 30mph, the surfers took to the water at 8pm. The conditions tested the competitors, with strong side shore currents and an ocean that looked more like white water rapids than a typical Florida beach break. Each athlete was given an eight minute heat, and two rounds to attempt their best aerial maneuvers. It was cold and windy with on & off rain showers, but the action in the water was definitely heating things up.
